The Pirate Post is a review of information for those who want to know the initiatives of the Pirates of the world

@witcraft I agree! But it's not fair to expect @tchambers to mention all the platforms during an interview with a popular slant 😂

@witcraft Here four projects are exactly the ones @mattontech mentioned in his interview. I decided to add them to the title of my post, but adding other unnamed projects would have been at least abusive...

> And Mastodon is hardly the Fediverse’s only offering. There’s also PeerTube, a decentralized video-sharing system; PixelFed, a similarly open-servered image-sharing service; Friendica, a more Facebook-like social media system; and Funkwhale, a community-driven music platform.

In any case, I don't want to disappoint you, but @tchambers basically rejected any protocol other than ActivityPub... 🙁

> Prodromou, however, has strong words for any organization looking to enter social media with a new decentralized social media protocol. “I’m not interested in any protocol besides ActivityPub,” he says. “Anyone working on brand new protocols in 2023 should stop immediately. They are going to do more harm than good.”

@JackFromWisconsin@wikis.world

I love that I'm seeing more and more posts to Lemmy from Mastodon.
This one feature finally ties Lemmy in with the rest of the fediverse by providing the lacking feature: making top level posts. Lemmy (along with friendica!) will lead the way in making "groups" and forums in the fediverse, accessible from any platform you choose.
@fediverse

@ada @nutomic and you will see them forever... 🙁
Unfortunately, messages interpreted incorrectly with the rel. 0.17.1 remain crystallized as they were interpreted the first time...
But this is not a problem, because you have to look towards the future! 😉

@jakob @anders I think, on the contrary, that's right: Mastodon is a microblogging software and there's no need for Mastodon to support a complete display of "subject + text" messages.

There are few projects that support these messages (Friendica, Hubzilla and bloggers like writefreely and plume) but they are more than enough 😅

@taur10 WOW the city of the bow! Possibly the only man-made monument I would visit the USA for!

However, you are a Friendica user. If you want to follow the news of your city, you could follow the RSS feed of local news with Friendica.

Otherwise, the important thing is to find the communities you like and follow the subscribed communities page: lemmy.ml/communities/listing_t…

Finally, remember that with Lemmy you can only follow the communities, but with Friendica you can also follow individual Lemmy users!

@Peter1986C @taur10 Nice initiative! 🤩
How was that page created?

@anders Lotide is a minimal software, but it is very efficient! Lemmy has reached a greater maturity, but the Lotide communities are certainly interesting.
In this regard, there is also another beautiful project that has just come out of the embryonic state: kbin.pub/en
This project also features a "microblog" section!

@informapirata @taur10 @realcaseyrollins

@anders AHAHAHA! 😁 😁 😄 Purtroppo, no...per il momento non ci sono istanze in altre lingue

Ahahaha! 😁 😁 😄 unfortunately, no ... for now there are no instances in other languages

@Hovedorganet Welcome to the Tower of Babel!

@informapirata @taur10 @realcaseyrollins @Hovedorganet

@wintermute @Peter1986C very compliments! It really is a job well done!
